Beware of fake QR menus in restaurants!

The use of QR codes as menus has become quite common. Supernova warns that fake QR codes in restaurants are used to steal users' data.

QR menu codes are small black and white squares that can be read with cameras on mobile devices and lead to a website. However, recently hackers have been using QR codes to redirect them to fake websites that contain fake forms asking users to install personal information and malware on their devices.

Before reading QR menus in restaurants,

  • Modified

  • Not related to the restaurant

  • Something is pasted on it

  • Another qr code has been added to it

Pay attention to the menus.

This type of attack can target users connecting from public Wi-Fi networks and steal personal information. We also recommend caution when reading QR codes and only trust QR codes downloaded from trusted sources.

Supernova confidently into the future.
